The idea was to incorparate my initials "GV" for my own logo with an underlying meaning in the icon.
The sketches brought me to 4 concepts to consider. The 1s and 3rd concept represent freelancing (connecting client with designer, by displaying two people) by using the initials "GV". The 2nd concept represents the initials in a more modern and robustic way while the 4th concept represents "remote work" by breaking out of one place and moving forward. Also, the broken framework of concept 3 represents freedom through remote work.
Creating a fitting typeface for concept 3. The minimalistic style together with the underlying thoughts are fitting best.
The final version. The logo represents the initials "GV", shaping towards connecting two people "client and designer" in a broken framework representing "freedom" for my love of traveling and the possibility of "remotely working" at the same time.
